Gratitude and Commitment

The East Bay Rose Society

The East Bay Rose Society is a non-profit hobby organization interested in promoting the enjoyment of roses. Through the exchange of ideas, cultural practices, and with goodwill and fellowship, the society strives to upgrade the standard and excellence of the rose in Alameda County, CA and the surrounding area.

Whether you have one rose bush or a hundred, you can benefit by becoming a member of our society. Our meetings cover all topics pertaining to rose growing and more! Several of our members are also Consulting Rosarians, approved by the American Rose Society, and always willing to share their knowledge with others.

If you’d like to become a member, you can join at one of our meetings, sign up online, or print and mail our Membership Form

Monthly meetings & Events

Our Society meets the 3rd Wednesday of the month, from January to June and September to October. Meetings are at 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM and are held at the Lakeside Park Garden Center, 666 Bellevue, Oakland CA. 94610. Please come join a truly dedicated group of rosarians who would like to share their rose growing experiences with you.

Each monthly meeting deals with some aspect of roses, such as: Pruning, Planting, Landscaping with Roses, Rose Diseases, Spraying, Fertilizers, Organic Methods, Rose Arrangements, Soil Preparation, Grooming Tips, Exhibiting Tips, Rose Culture, Propagation Methods, Watering Techniques, Easy Roses to Grow, and much much more! Each year we host a rose show sanctioned by the American Rose Society in the spring for the community to exhibit their roses.

Throughout the year (usually July - August) we tour of rose gardens, take trips to nurseries, and hold workshops and seminars on growing amazing roses.

And in November, we celebrate with our annual luncheon!
